We're massive fans of Zombina and the Skeletones over on the Jonny and alex show - we played them first on our Xmas clip show which you can listen to here http://bit.ly/cGusCt

We'll definately be giving them another spin at another point in the very near future.

Great interview Jane! Nice to learn some more about the band.

thanks for the correction Cogitata, I wholeheartedly agree.

Hey Cassandrina,

Your comments are most welcome and we are in agreement on the finances and kite flying. I'm interested to know why you think serious restructure is needed? To me. the licence fee is cheaper than Sky and Virgin media and (HBO aside, god bless America) delivers better programming without the annoying Go Compare or we-buy-any-car interruptions, that's just my opinion.

I am not blaming the right wing media, I simply do not want them setting the media policy for the UK. Neither would I want the left wing (what there is of it) media doing so. It's in the commercial medias interests to gain market share, I understand and support it. I'm simply pointing out that there is a wider political agenda that 6 music seems to be caught up in, rather than the idea that it is purely a victim of a cost cutting exercise.

As Cogitata says the commercial market cannot deliver a niche product like 6 music. Generating some support (which I want to do for music's sake not for political bias) may help the BBC to justify it's continued existence.

Incidentally, I believe it is impossible to be subjective in any journalistic field. I prefer my broadcasters to have their political bias, listen to a variant of views, and make up my own mind. Would you agree?

Thompson is an idiot if he believes that any thinking person believes that he has £600 million (18% of revenue) to redistribute if he halves the website (reportedly a total of £178 million), cutting the Asian and 6 Music services (reportedly £13 million) - it only shows he has not a commercial bone in his body and he believes the UK public is stupid.
He is simply flying kites to generate controversy and save his job, possibly along with Lyons.
Serious restructure is needed that will involve radio 1 and 2 as well as the television services, a task his is not capable of doing. Also the Aegean Stables that is bbc needs a dramatic culture change and Hercules is not in sight yet.
Blaming right wing media for lambasting the bbc is disingenuous as the public is tired of the incessant bias coming from the ridiculous left wingers in radio and tv.
Listen to radio 4's James Naughty and Caroline Quinn and tell me they are not biased.
Time for real change.
